Whitchurch Way

The Whitchurch Way runs from the Bedminster Roundabout to Norton Lane just south of Whitchurch. The initial section runs along the River Avon as far as the St Philips Causeway, where it turns south and heads in the approximate direction of the Bristol and North Somerset Railway, though it only uses the track bed for a short section of the route.

The route has many barriers that would prevent anything larger than a standard bicycle from using the route, making it unusable for most bike trailers, cargo bikes and tricycles. There are extensive on-road sections and significant gradients, along with underpasses. In places the route consists of a narrow footpath or pavement.

  • Accessibility 1/10
  • Segregation/safety 1/10
  • Convenience 2/10
  • Gradients 3/10
